Conference on agricultural restructuring project to 2020

On the morning of March 16, Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference on the implementation of the agricultural restructuring project to 2020 with orientation to 2030.

Developing about 30,000 hectares of rice cultivation under the process of “3 decrease, 3 increase, 1 must, 5 decreases” links sustainably with businesses. To form hi-tech agricultural areas on key fruit trees such as durian, pineapple, dragon fruit and Hoa Loc mango and forming 3 to 5 high-tech enterprise models, connecting production and consumption. To form the 200 hectare gathering breeding farm in Thanh Hoa commune and breeding lines with concentrated scale, applying high technology, meeting the food demand of big cities and export.

The restructuring of the agricultural sector will contribute to maintaining a high growth rate, speeding up the application of high technologies to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural products, improving incomes and improve living standards for rural residents to ensure immediate and long-term food security, contributing to reducing poverty.
