To resolve irrigation immediately to save star apple

It was the direction of Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huiong at the working session with Chau Thanh district People's Committee on March 17.

He said that he would use the standby budget to immediately implement irrigation works to improve water resources that was immediate solution to restore the star apple garden. Chau Thanh district People's Committee was assigned to implement the project of restoring star apple and the Standing Committee of the district Party Committee should introdue this project into the regular inspection program.

On other issues, he asked Chau Thanh district Peopple’s Committee to increase the number of communes to reach new rural standards in the coming years so that 50 percent of the communes in the district would reach new rural standards by 2020. The Department of Cooperatives under the Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development supported the district to consolidate vegetable cooperative and star apple cooperative which were two agricultural strengths of the district met difficult. The remaining land of more than 10 hectares was allocated to Than Cuu Nghia area to call for investment, to create a satellite residential area at Tan Hiep high school after completion.

Previously, reporting to the delegation of the provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Chau Thanh district People's Committee presented progress and obstacles in the compensation and ground clearance work of the 110 kv line for Long Giang industrial park, Tien Giang University, the issues of Long Dinh, Vinh Kim and Tan Hiep urban development, the evenue collection, business development, and especially the restoration of star apple and the development of the district's specialized vegetable area.
