Pineapple rises by more than 1,000 VND per kilogram

According  to Le Minh Nhat trader bought pineapple at Tan Hoa Tay coomune, Tan Phuoc district, prices of pineapple current has by more than 1,000 VND per kilogram after dropping in 3,500 VND per kilogram.

Accordingly, traders have agreed to buy pineapple at 4,500-4,700 VND per kilogram for the first class, 3,400 VND per kilogram for the second class and 3,000 VND per kilogram for the third class. However, this price is still quite low in comparision with the last year. The price is increased because some pineapple growing areas of Hau Giang and Kien Giang provinces have completely been harvested while the demand for pineapple in the market is still quite high.

According to statistic, Tan Phuoc district has formed a pineapple-growing area with 16,000 hectares. According to farmers, the production cost of pineapple is not less than 2,000 VND per kilogram. If the average price is 4,500 VND per kilogram, the farmers are not high profitable.
