Japanese consulting companies seek investment opportunities in Tien Giang

The Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) has just held a meeting with the delegation of Japanese consultant companies on July 21 led by Chief Representative cum Director of JETRO office in Ho Chi Minh city Takimoto Koji. Director of Tien Giang provincial Department of Foreign Affairs Luu Van Phi introduced the overview of the province including natural condition, infrastructure and human resources, potential development advantages of the province. At the same time, he also presented summary report about socio-economic achievements of the province in 2016 and the first 6 months of 2017.

The Japanese consulting companies have inquired and raised questions about the issues such as the situation of labor supply, staff and human resources of the province used Japanese, preferential policies in the fields of health, information technology, agriculture, management and operation of provincial cooperatives, etc...

These inquiries of the Japanese consulting companies were sincerely answered by Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc and leaders of many provincial departments to meet the need of the Japanese consulting company delegation.

It is known that Tien Giang province has five projects with investment capital from Japan with a total registered capital of 36 USD million dollars. About the export, in 2016, Tien Giang province's export to Japan reached 150.37 USD million, increased by 39.82% over the same period. The major exports are rice, garment, seafood, plastic products, vegetables, rice paper, rice noodle, noodle soup, lighting equipment, handicrafts, shoes, handbags. About the import, the import turnover of Tien Giang province from Japan in 2016 is USD 62.47 million.

About tourism, the number of Japanese visitors to Tien Giang is the highest among foreign visitors to the province. Specifically, in 2016, Tien Giang province welcomed more than 100,000 Japanese visitors. In 2016, Tien Giang province had 136 labors worked in Japan as mainly general workers.
