Australian delegation visits the Southern Fruit Institute

On August 24, the Australian delegation led by Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston, co-Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Management, visited and worked at the Southern Fruit Institute.

Director of the Southern Fruit Institute Nguyen Van Hoa expressed his pleasure to welcome this visit of the delegation This was the opportunity for the Institute and the Australian Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources to exchange the number of highlights when cooperating with Australia in recent years.

Since 1997, 17 projects have been jointly funded by the Australian Government, Australian experts and the Institute, especially integrating pest management, supporting for root disease resistance assessment, exchanging and evaluating commercial breeds imported from Australia, researching on fruit fly, etc...

In the coming time, the Southern Fruit Institute wished to continue cooperating with Australia to improve the quality of fruit trees, to reduce diseases, to form the value chain from production to consumption.
Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston appreciated the cooperation between Australia and the Southern Fruit Institute on the projects implemented. In addition, she also highly appreciated some specialties of Vietnam such as mango, dragon fruit, etc...

In the future, she would report to the Australian Government to cooperate with the Institute on mango quality improvement projects in Vietnam to support linkage along the value chain, etc ...
