Goods, services sales value in July up 10.3%

The total retail sales value of goods and services in July was estimated at more than VND 327.6 trillion (US$14.4 billion), 1.2% higher than last month and 10.3% higher than at the same period last year, according to a General Statistics Office (GSO) report.

The total retail revenue of essential goods saw a growth rate of 10% to VND 244.3 trillion (US$ 10.74 billion) against the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the hotel and restaurant sector, and tourism services posted a retail sales value of VND 41.5 trillion (US$ 1.82 billion) and VND 3.4 trillion (US$ 150 million), respectively.

The national retail sales in the January – July period reached nearly VND 2,249 trillion (US$ 98.88 billion), a year-on-year increase of 10%.

Since the beginning of this year, the purchasing power of goods witnessed a high growth of 10%, amounting to VND 1,685 trillion (US$ 74.1 billion), accounting for 74.9% of the total retail sales and services revenue.

At the same time, retailers of rice and foodstuff reported growth of 10.7%; garment retailers, 9.6%; and home appliance retailers, 8.9%.
