Nearly 997.8 million tourists visit Tien Giang from start of the year

According to the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Tien Giang greeted nearly 997.8 million tourist arrivals in the first seven months of 2017, a year-on-year rise of 7%.

Of this figure, foreign tourist arrivals were 345.2 thousand, up 9.8% in comparison to the same period of last year. Total restaurant-hotel-tourism turnover was estimated at VND 3,134 billion, up 16.1% over a year previous.

The tourism industry of Tien Giang province has focused on building knowledge-based products in all three ecological areas in combination with locally characteristic values to create distinctive tourism products.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tien Giang has invited and facilitated investors to carry out ecological tourism projects as well as continued to invest in developing and expanding tourist attractions like Tan Thanh marine tourist site, Thoi Son islet tourist site, tourist attractions in Cai Be and Cai Lay district, etc...

Especially, on June, the Provincial Center for Promotion - Investment and Tourism organized a delegation survey tour routes connected a number of tourist attractions such as: Long Dinh mat village, Truc Lam Chanh Giac zen monestary, Bao Dang resort, Dong Thap Muoi ecotourism zone; visiting and shopping at Tan Phuoc candy making establishment, Kimmy's chocolate production establishment.

According to the members of the delegation, if this tour is invested and exploited well, it will open more opportunities for tourism in Tan Phuoc district as well as Tien Giang in general.
