A project to improve the value of Tan Phu Dong citronella

This is one of the objectives of the Science and Technology project on citronella in Tan Phu Dong district launched on November 7.

Accordingly, the project has been implemented from June 2017 to December 20-19 with a total cost of VND7.5 billion. The Center for Biotechnology and Technology (under the Department of Science and Technology) coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University transferring technology for Phuc Nguyen Trade - Investment - Construction Co., Ltd to implement the project.

Phuc Nguyen Company will extract the essential oil from high efficiency lichen leaves by using steam pressure steam engine. The plant operates at a capacity of 8-10 tons per day. Residues after extraction of essential oils will be utilized to grow mushrooms. Next, organic soil will be produced from the growing medium after growing mushroom or after distilling the essential oils.

According to functional branches, the plant will contribute to improve the value of citrus in Tan Phu Dong district.
