PCI of Tien Giang province increases 8 grades

ABO - On the morning of March 22, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) announcement ceremony.

Accordingly, Tien Giang province gets 61.44 points, ranked 40/63 provinces and cities (ranked medium team) and increased 8 grades compared to 2016.

Compared to other provinces in the Mekong Delta, Tien Giang's PCI in 2017 had positive changes, ranking 9 out of 13 provinces and cities, when it surpassed Soc Trang, Hau Giang and Bac Lieu provinces. In 2016, PCI 16 of Tien Giang ranked No. 12 in 13 provinces, cities of the Mekong Delta.

The PCI 2017 report is based on feedback from 12,000 enterprises including over 10,200 private enterprises operating in 63 provinces and cities and nearly 1,800 foreign invested enterprises operating at 21 provinces and cities in Vietnam.

The PCI 2017 survey noted the dramatic improvement in the operating quality of local governments across the country. By compared with the previous years, the local has settled opportunely more difficulties and problems for businesses. Unofficial fees tended to be positively improved, the business environment was more equitable and the quality of handling administrative procedures was changing positively.
