Tien Giang province's export turnover gets USD 1,18 billion in first half

ABO - According to the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee, the export turnover in the first six months is estimated at nearly USD 1.18 billion, reached 44.4% of the plan. Of which, the foreign invested sector accounted for 71.6% of the total export turnover, accounting for the highest proportion in the structure of exports with industrial products, agricultural and aquatic products.

The top turnover rank was copper tube accounted for 19.2%, up 26.8%; footwear made up accounted for 18.2%, up 5.3%; bags, plastic products accounted for 17.7%, down 13.7% and garments accounted for 16.6%, up 7.8%. Agricultural products accounted for 14.4%, rising only 2%; rice accounted for 7.3%, up 34.5% and vegetables accounted for 0.7%, up 45.3%.

The export goods of the province continued to exploit traditional markets and expand the search and development of new markets. The export to many markets has got high growth, especially markets which Vietnam has signed an FTA. In the first 6 months of 2018, America imported USD 508.2 million, up 6.7% over the same period; followed by Asia, reached USD 493 million, up 3.8%; the third was Europe with USD 223.6 million, up 10.8 percent, and the rest of Oceania and Africa.
