The Provincial People's Council works with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism

ABO - On September 10, the delegation of the Tien Giang provincial People's Council, led by Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Sang, worked with the Tien Giang province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the implementation of the Resolution No.54/2013/NQ-HDND dated 11 July 2013 by the Provincial People's Council approving “Plan for the Tien Giang province tourism development up to 2020 and vision to year 2030".

In the 5 year implementation of the Resolution No.54, the whole sector has proposed solutions, implementing the tourism development plan, project achieved many practical results.

The number of tourists and tourism revenue from 2013 increased. In 2017, there were over 1.8 million visitors to the Tien Giang province. By June 2018, the province had 146/344 tourist accommodation establishments reached the standard with more than 2,400 rooms. The Tien Giang province has many tourism products such as: ecology, community, learn indigenous culture, etc ...

At the working session, the delegates pointed out the difficulties and limitations of the provincial tourism activities such as: tourism development infrastructure is not invested adequately; competition in tourism development; the quality of tourism products is limited; the tourism promotion and propagation did not go into depth, etc...

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Sang said that the development of tourism is increasingly interested in investment as well as the quality and efficiency has been raised. The province has approved the policy on development of tourism, the problem is the way to implement?

The supervision the implementation of the resolution aims to assess the achievements and point out difficulties to make proposals and petitions to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.

After working with the Tien Giang province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the delegation of the Provincial People's Council will supervise the implementation of the resolution on tourism development in some localities from September 11-14.
