The delegation visited the star apple garden of Phan Dan Hien in Dong Hoa commune, Chau Thanh district to find out the situation of the growers, preparing for the export of star apple in 2018.

Hien's star apple garden has a total area of about 5,500 m2, which planted more than 12 years ago. In order to raise the value of dairy products, he has linked and supplied products to exporters to the US market.

2018 is the second year Tien Giang exports this specialty fruit to the US market. According to the agriculture sector, in 2017, Tien Giang had four enterprises involved in exporting star apple with about 170 tons.

According to statistics, in 2018, the whole province has about 128 hectares of star apple prepared to export to the US and 11 codes issued. The area of star apple for export is most concentrated in Chau Thanh and Cai Be districts.
