Cai Be district focus on the potential of garden economy

ABO – Locating at the source of Tien river, Cai Be district has great potential for economic development of gardens including fruit tree. The district now has over 17,000 hectares of perennial plants with an annual output of over 283,000 tons of fruits.

Cai Be district is also a locality with a lot of specialty fruits that have a competitive advantage in the market towards exporting, notably Hoa Loc mango, Co Co pomelo, orange, etc... bring great economic value, helping many farmers to set up a stable business.

In order to bring into play this important economic potential, Cai Be district focused on agricultural technology transfer, recommending farmers planning orchards, select good varieties and apply synchronously technical advances in production to increase productivity, yield and quality of crops, etc...

Cai Be district has recently implemented many topics, projects and projects of agricultural science transfer, supporting farmers to exploit the potential of garden economy for economic and social development. Typically, the project of converting Hoa Loc mango variety - Co Co pomelo in the area in the period of 2016-2020 supported 103 farmer households in communes with geographical indications with a total area of 42.65 ha and nearly 11,000 seedlings; In 2017, 138 farmers households was supported 19,168 seedlings, etc...

In addition, the district also implemented the project "Supporting the development of Idor longan associated with the value chain in Cai Be district" in the area of Khanh Hoa commune and Hau Thanh commune with a total area of 23.5 hectares, 4,471 seedlings and 61 households.
