Furthering domestic trade activities to promote goods supply and demand

ABO - Through the further domestic commercial activities, promoting the demand and supply of goods to serve the needs of people, in the first six months of 2019, Tien Giang province has reached the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue society as 30.894 billion VND, up 11.3% over the same period last year.

In particular, the commercial sector reached over 24,479 billion VND, accounting for about 80% of the total and increasing by 11.1% over the same period last year; hotel and restaurant industry reached over 3,186 billion VND, up 8.2% over the same period last year; tourism industry reached over 62 billion VND, up 16.5% over the same period last year. The rest of other service sectors also reached over 3,166 billion VND, increased by 16.6% over the same period.

The province is striving to achieve the total retail sales of goods and social consumption services as 31,106 billion VND in the remaining six months of 2019, bringing the whole year to 62,000 billion VND, reaching the plan of 2019 and an increase of 9.6% over the previous year.

This year, the province continues to promote trade and trade promotion activities for the domestic market, notably the rural demand stimulus and the program "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" through the organizing programs "Vietnamese goods market", trade fairs and services, facilitating people to go shopping and consuming. Besides, the province consolidates rural commercial infrastructure, serving consumption and trade needs of urban people as well as remote areas.

Promoting the achievements in the field of domestic trade promotion, from now until the end of the year, Tien Giang province continues to monitor and implement the task of connecting goods demand and supply, well preparing goods sources for Tet Lunar Year and stabilizing the domestic market, expanding retail and tourism services and essential tools to meet the needs of people; invest in strengthening the market network and constructing rural commercial infrastructure.
