Mekong Delta tourism needs to link and sustainable develop

ABO - Within the framework of the seminar to promote sustainable tourism connectivity between HCMC and the 13 city and provinces in the Mekong Delta, on September 5, the leadership conference of HCMC and the 13 city and provinces in the Mekong Delta at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center was organized with an attendance of Member of Politburo, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan; Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and leaders of ministries, central agencies and localities.

At the conference, provinces and cities presented the local tourism development situation; at the same time, stating suggestions and recommendations to promote cooperation in tourism development in HCMC and the provinces , cities of the Mekong Delta.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam welcomed and congratulated the conference with a very correct and topical topic, which is linkage and sustainable development. This is a very natural, necessary and promising link.

HCMC is not only the largest economic center of the country but also a focal point for exchanges on many very important aspects of the region. In particular, there have been many models, initiatives, good practices, which have contributed significantly to the country's renovation process.

The Mekong Delta is not only a rich land, not only has the potential to develop many types of tourism, especially ecotourism but also has its own unique cultural and heritage features.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam welcomed the establishment of the Council of HCMC and the Mekong Delta. At the same time, he required that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism side by side with this inter-regional structure, what the regional council's proposal is under the State's jurisdiction, must be solved together, etc...

At the conference, HCMC leaders and 13 provinces, cities in the Mekong Delta signed memorandum of tourism development cooperation.
