75% communes of Tien Giang province to meet new rural standards by 2020

Up to now, there are 76 communes recognized as meeting the national standards on new rural areas (accounting for 52.7% of communes in the province; an increase of 16 communes compared to the end of 2018); the average target of the whole province is 15.7 criteria/commune; there is no commune to reach less than 5 criteria; there is no debt of capital construction in the construction of new rural areas.

For 23 communes to meet the standards in 2019, 12 communes have launched new rural communes and 10 more communes will be launched from now to December as expected. Particularly, 22 communes included in the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee's plan strive to meet new rural standards in 2020, so far, there has been 1 commune meeting standard and 6 more communes to strive to reach the standard by December 2019.

In particular, up to October 10, 2019, 12 communes of 5 district-level units of Tien Giang province registered to supplement the list of communes striving to reach the new rural standard by 2020.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for implementation of the National New Rural Target Program recommended that the localities governments need to pay special attention to electricity criteria, which must be given top priority, balancing all resources for implementation in order to ensure the quality of life and agricultural production of the people, especially safe for power users.

Comrade Le Van assigned the Tien Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to formulate a plan and set up a local difficulty survey team in implementing new rural criteria, so that measures can be taken by time.
