A supply of goods to be ensured sufficient as Covid-19 pandemic develops more complicatedly

ABO - According to Director of Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade Doan Van Phuong, Tien Giang province certainly ensured the supply and demand of goods as well as stabilized prices of essential commodities for consumers as the Covid-19 pandemic has developed more complicatedly.

Deploying the direction of Tien Giang People's Committee, the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade has urgently implemented measures to ensure the supply of goods and necessities for consumption of people in Tien Giang province such as: Organizing a survey team and working with supermarkets and convenience stores to increase the supply of goods and necessities for people's consumption from 70 – 100 percent.

At the same time, the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade also strengthened the state management of trade, prices and reserves to avoid scarcity of essential goods; strengthening inspection and controlling the market, etc... In addition, the unit also issued an emergency plan to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and solutions to ensure supply-demand balance chemicals in Tien Giang province, etc...

According to the Provincial Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Doan Van Phuong, Tien Giang province has many large distribution systems including four big supermarkets (Co.opmart supermarket in My Tho city, Go Cong town and Cai Lay town, My Tho Big C Go supermarket); over 65 convenience stores of Bach Hoa Xanh, Vinmart + system and 6 branch stores of Ward 1 – My Tho city, etc… ensure to provide a full range of essential products and necessities such as rice, noodles, sugar, milk, cooking oil, poultry eggs, hand sanitizer, masks, etc...

The total reserve of goods reaches nearly 1,000 billion VND, of which essential goods is over 500 billion VND. The distribution systems affirmed that the stock of goods are plentiful and sufficient for the people, committing ready to supply an increase of 30 – 50 percent of the types of food from their system to people and adjust more appropriate selling price without increasing price.

In addition to the network of supermarkets and convenience stores, Tien Giang province has 173 traditional markets covering all areas so goods are always supplied timely to consumers. There is no shortage of goods and fluctuation local prices.
