The delegation worked with Viet Nguyen rice processing enterprise, My Tuong Joint Stock company and Phuoc Dat Co., Ltd. According to these enterprises, the suspension of rice exports during the complicated COVID-19 epidemic situation is a sound macroeconomic policy to ensure national food security.

However, the temporary suspension of rice and rice exports was too sudden so most of enterprises were passive because of having to pay additional labor and storage fees.

According to businesses, the rice in the Mekong Delta is still very large and the domestic consumption has now been stabilized so the state should consider soon for export of rice again. In addition, businesses are also committed to selling stable prices with sufficient quantities to meet market demand.

Vice Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee Le Van Nghia highly appreciated the efforts of enterprises as well as joining hands to contribute to stabilizing the market besides business. He also desired enterprises to try to overcome difficulties in the epidemic stage; at the same time, acknowledging their opinions to propose to the Government.
