National fair of traditional medicine to feature 300 booths

ABO/NDO- The second national fair of medicinal herbs and traditional medicine is scheduled to take place at the National Convention Centre on December 23, showcasing 300 booths by domestic and foreign enterprises.

The information was released at a press briefing held in Hanoi on November 16.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Thinh, Director of the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health, said the fair is expected to create a venue to connect enterprises and form value chains and links between managers, farmers, businesses and customers.

Unique characteristics and traditional knowledge of medicine of Vietnam’s ethnic groups will also be introduced at the fair.

Some sideline activities will be included in the fair, such as seminars on the development of Vietnamese medicinal herbs and herbal medicine products, the improvement of medical examinations and treatment using traditional medicine and the investment in medicinal materials.

The event is expected to attract about 50,000 visitors, including domestic and foreign organisations and businesses, cooperatives, physicians, and others.
