Hanoian martial artists contributed significantly to Vietnam’s success at the tournament with a medal tally of four golds, two silvers and one bronze.

The event was considered an important rehearsal for countries in the region ahead of the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur this August, as well as the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, where Pencak Silat will make its continental debut.

The top finish went to host Malaysia, while Indonesia, known as the strongest team, missed out on the podium.

The 2017 World Youth Jujitsu Championship, which concluded in Egypt on March 19, saw Dao Hong Son bag two bronze medals for Vietnam.

Jujitsu will be among the major events at the upcoming 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
