Nam’s achievement has been attributed to his performance in the men’s singles category at the Thailand F3 Futures tournament last week, after beating number two seed, Jankovits Yannick of France, 2-1 in the final.

In Southeast Asia, Hoang Nam stands behind Indonesia’s player Christopher Rungkat, who is currently at 463rd position in the ATP’s world rankings.

In the men’s doubles category, Nam ranks 503 in the world, the highest achievement in this event in Vietnamese tennis.

Ly Hoang Nam is going to attend two Men’s Futures championships in China, the last tournament before he competes at the SEA Games 29. The champion will receive a cash prize of US$25,000 and earn 27 points.

His teammates Trinh Linh Giang and Nguyen Hoang Thien stand at 1351st and 1472nd places in the ATP’s world rankings.
