Under the theme “Unforgettable Years”, the paintings will go on display from July 20 to 30 in the museum’s special exhibition hall and will help visitors to develop a profound understanding of the nation’s glorious past.

The paintings were chosen from the Fine Arts Museum’s collection of works on the topic of revolutionary wars and reflect the painters’ authentic views on the wars.

Through these paintings, visitors can grasp a better understanding of the spirit of the Vietnamese people as they maintained the hope of victory during these violent wars.

The works on display also depicts life on the home front where the wives and mothers made silent sacrifices in their contributions to the ultimate triumph.

According to an estimate by the Vietnamese Society of Fine Arts, more than 400 of its 1,700 previous and present members have served in the military, with more than 100 directly involved in the fiercest battlefields and 61 falling in the war against the Americans.
