Vietnam thrives in men's singles at U18 ITF Junior Circuit – G5

Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Van Phuong beat Chinese player Yuan Zihao to win the men's singles category of the U18 ITF Junior Circuit – Group 5 Tournament - Becamex Cup 2017 which wrapped up in Ho Chi Minh City on July 22.

Meanwhile, Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty from India defeated Che Yujia from China to win the women's singles category.

In the men's doubles, Yuan Zihao and Zeng Zicheng from China defeated Vietnam's Van Phuong and Minh Thinh to take gold.

China's Li Zongyi and Wang Jungyi were victorious in the women's doubles category after beating Che Yujiao and Gou Chunxi also from China.

The tournament has featured competition between over 100 juniors from 20 countries including Australia, China, Bangladesh, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam, among others.

The event, jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City's Culture and Sport Department and the municipal Tennis Federation, took place from July 15-22.
