Since its establishment on September 5, 1989, the museum has been active in researching and gathering art works which are imbued with Vietnamese culture and rich in aesthetic characteristics.

Approximately 22,000 antiques dated back to different periods of time have been collected and well preserved at the museum.

According to Deputy Director of the museum, Trinh Xuan Yen, the museum leaders and staff will soon work out solutions to introduce valuable heritages of Vietnamese ancestors to visitors at home and abroad.

Efforts have also been made to improve the museum’s infrastructure and enrich the museum’s collection.

At the celebration, Deputy Minister Lien presented the museum with a MOCST certificate recognising it the first class in the Vietnam’s national museum system.

On the occasion, three exhibitions opened at the museum with works on display including photos cataloguing the establishment and development of the museum, as well as sculptures, and paintings in various media of oil, lacquer, and watercolour.
