Vietnam U19s head for Suwon JS Cup 2018

ABO/NDO – Vietnam’s U19 football team, coached by Hoang Anh Tuan, left for the Republic of Korea (ROK) today, as they gear up to take part in the 2018 Suwon JS Cup U19 International Tournament from April 18 to 22.

The five-day event features four U19 teams from Vietnam, Mexico, Morocco, and the (ROK), who will be competing in a round robin format to decide the overall winners.

In preparation for the tournament, Vietnam U19s recently undertook a 10-day training course in Hanoi and Hung Yen province.

The Suwon JS Cup is an important warm-up for head coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his players ahead of their upcoming AFC U19 Championship campaign.

Answering questions from domestic media, head coach Hoang Anh Tuan hailed the Suwon JS Cup as an important warm-up for his players ahead of the upcoming AFC U19 Championship 2018 in Indonesia, where Vietnam are targeting a semifinal place, which would guarantee a ticket to next year’s U20 World Cup.

Vietnam will play the Suwon JS Cup opener against Mexico on April 18 before taking on Morocco and the ROK on April 20 and 24, respectively.
