Photo set highlights people in Ha Giang developing sustainable economy, combatting COVID-19 effectively

ABO/NDO – A set of photos, as part of the project “Strengthening communication on COVID-19 prevention in the new normal situation for small ethnic minority businesses in Ha Giang Province”, has been implemented by the Vietnam's Ministry of Health and UNDP.
The photo set brings the message of recommending the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic to the community through the beauty of the people and culture of Vietnam.
The project “Strengthening communication on COVID-19 prevention in the new normal situation for small ethnic minority businesses in Ha Giang Province” with a series of practical activities that provide knowledge and information and promote new habits among people regarding the prevention and control of the pandemic.

The project has reached out to local government officials, health workers, and small businesses in Ha Giang City and the districts of Meo Vac, Dong Van, Quan Ba, and Yen Minh. It has helped in providing essential resources for the local government in its prevention control efforts, and guidance for people, especially small ethnic minority businesses, to co-exist safely with COVID-19 while recovering and building forward better.
The set of photos consists of 50 photos taken in late 2020 and early 2021 in the four rocky highland districts of Dong Van, Meo Vac, Yen Minh and Quan Ba of Ha Giang Province. These are the four poorest districts in the country with the highest population of H'Mong people.
Through the set of photos, the beauty in the work of ethnic minority small businesses is outlined together with epidemic prevention measures that are taken to bring the safety of health to individuals and communities.
In the photos, people show their awareness of preventing epidemics in production labour such as wearing masks, washing hands with antiseptic, and maintaining personal hygiene and living environment hygiene.
The photo set also shows the beauty of the people when developing tourism while preserving and promoting cultural identity, and at the same time implementing safely measures to prevent COVID-19.
