Musician Do Hong Quan elected as Chairman of Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations

ABO/NDO – Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations (VULAA) at a conference of the Union’s Presidium held in Hanoi on September 22.

At the event, which was attended by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, Quan was also appointed as Secretary of the Union’s Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.

While extending his congratulations to the newly elected VULAA Chairman, Nghia spoke highly of the union’s achievements as well as its significant contributions to the national revolutionary cause since its establishment 73 years ago.

He urged the union to continue promoting its traditions and make further efforts to developing the country’s literature and arts and fulfil the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.

He stressed that the Party and State always create the most favourable conditions for literary and artistic activities, and are willing to listen to artists and writers’ opinions on important issues of the country.

For his part, Quan shared that it is a great honour for him to assume to new role. He expressed his thanks for the Party and State for their great support for the VULAA during its establishment and development.
He pledged to make further contributions to the union’s development and work to promote solidarity and determination among the union’s members in fulfilling assigned tasks.
