2022 Co To Half Marathon kicks off

ABO/NDO - Around 500 runners partook in the 2022 Co To Half Marathon on April 23.
They competed in three categories: 21km, 10km, and 5km.

Held in the island district of Co To (Quang Ninh), the Co To Half Marathon 2022 is one of the activities in the series of events to welcome the tourist season of Co To District in 2022.

The 2022 Co To Half Marathon is a new initiative of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the People's Committee of Co To District in efforts to restore tourism after being affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

The organising board hopes that the 2022 Co To Half Marathon will create an important premise for the formation of an annual professional marathon in the locality, and at the same time create an environment for union members, youths and people to build a sense of fitness and active lifestyle.

The 2022 Co To Half Marathon is to respond to the campaign of all people exercising their bodies to follow Uncle Ho's example and the movement of training for health to build the country among union members and youths, as well as develop the sports movement among the people.

At the end of the 2022 Co To Half Marathon, athlete Doan Thu Hang won the first prize in the women’s 21km event while Le Thi Bich finished second. The third prize went to athlete Trinh Yen Linh.

In the same event for men, athlete Bui Van Dung came first, followed by athlete Pham Duc Luan and athlete Tran Minh Duong.

In the 10km run for women, athlete Le Thi Thanh Nga claimed the first prize while the second and third prizes were claimed by athletes Pham Thi Ngoc Anh and Tran Thi Hang.

In the 10km run for men, the first prize went to Phung Van Linh while athletes Nguyen Van Tuan and Son Tien Phat came second and third, respectively.

The organising board also presented awards to runners who took part in the 5km category.
