Phu Tho villagers holds procession to commemorate Hung Kings

ABO/NDO- Residents of seven communes near the Hung Kings Temple in Phu Tho Province held a palanquin procession on April 26 to commemorate the nation’s legendary founders.

The procession recreated the residents’ cultural practices of ancestor worship and aimed to educate people about the spirit of solidarity and remind them of the fine tradition of remembering the origin.

The event also celebrated the value of the worship of Hung Kings, which was listed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2012.

The procession attracted the attention of thousands of pilgrims to the Hung Kings Temple.
