Implementing the policy to build My Tho city to become the smart city

Accordingly, the planned smart urban development project will be built since September of 2017.
Specifically, since 2017 - 2020, the project will implement information technology infrastructure – telecommunication, to build data center, to share databases, the e-government, smart operating centers in order to apply in areas such as administrative reform, health care, environment, traffic management, gentrification, tourism, agriculture, education, etc ...

Since 2020, on the basis of evaluating the effectiveness of implementation, the project will expand and improve the scale.

The policy of building My Tho city to become the smart city has been deployed on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed between Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee with VNPT on frame construction information and communications technology for construction project to build My Tho city to become the smart city.

The objective of the smart urban development in oder to improve people's quality of life, increasing management efficiency, reducing costs, attracting businesses and investors, development sustainable and reducing environmental impact.
