Tien Giang gets 4G connectivity via Viettel

The Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) launched its 4G service on Tien Giang province on April 4. Deputy Chairman of the provincial Tien Giang People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc attended this event. This event was part of a series of launching 4G network deployed by Viettel nationwide.

In just 6 months of deployment, Viettel has built nearly 36,000 4G base transceiver stations. Viettel's 4G network has been available in all provinces and cities across the country, covering 704 districts of Vietnam. Viettel covers 95% of Vietnam's population. In particular, many places such as remote area, border area and island  also have been covered by 4G network.

Only in Tien Giang province, Viettel has deployed 556 4G base transceiver stations, covering 11 districts, towns and cities in the province and 173 communes and wards, including remote communes in the province.

Speaking at the lauching ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the provincial Tien Giang People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc highly appreciated Viettel's contribution to the economic development as well as the social welfare policy of the province. Especially, he noted that Viettel's efforts to provide 4G network for people to approach new technolony.

He wished Viettel to support local levels and branches in applying information technology in the fields of education and health, agriculture to reform administrative procedures, to improve competitiveness as well as the investment environment of the province.
