Truong Hai Dang receives the ASEAN scholarship 2017

One student of the Tien Giang High School for Gifted Students has just received the ASEAN scholarship on the ceremony held on October 9, at the Saigon Center building, 65 Le Loi street, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

There are 12 Vietnamese students (5 students in the North and 7 students in the South) who completed the secondary program with good results and excellent English proficiency as well as outstanding achievements in extracurricular activities. They have to pass the quite strict selection round including writing and oral exam in English to win the ASEAN 2017 scholarship.

Truong Hai Dang of the Tien Giang High School for Gifted Students is the only contestant of the Mekong Delta provinces to receive this scholarship.

As the full scholarship (tuition, living expenses, medical examination and insurance, etc...), the ASEAN Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education of Singapore to young people in ASEAN. They have an opportunity to study at the public schools of Singapore in four years until they earn a preparatory college or GCE A-Level certificate to apply and receive scholarships at famous universities in Singapore as well as in other countries.

Five years ago, the brother of Truong Hai Dang (Truong Hai Bang) received the scholarship and was receiving scholarships from SMU Singapore University.
