200 international delegates join conference on science and development in Vietnam

ABO/NDO - Two Nobel laureates and nearly 200 scientists from 40 countries and territories worldwide attended a conference on science and development, which opened in Quy Nhon city, in the central province of Binh Dinh, on May 9.

The conference is part of the annual Rencontres du Vietnam programme held at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education.

According to Professor Tran Thanh Van, the event's organiser, the conference follows the success of the international conference “Fundamental Science and Society”, which took place at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in July, 2016, as part of the 12th Rencontres du Vietnam.

There are 12 international symposiums and six specialised thematic classes scheduled for the 14th Rencontres du Vietnam.

The event has attracted the participation of over 1,500 domestic and international delegates.

On the occasion, several exchanges will be held between Nobel laureates, distinguished scientists and students and the scientific community in Quy Nhon, Hue, Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.
