Tien Giang to respond to Vietnam Sea and Island Week

ABO - The Tien Giang provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to respond to Vietnam Sea and Island Week and the World Ocean Day 2018.

It aims at raising awareness and responsibility for the management, protection and sustainable development of the sea and island environment of Party members and class of people regarding the strategic position of the sea and island of Vietnam; To strive to achieve the objective by 2020 that Vietnam will become a strong country in the sea, enriching the sea and firmly defending sovereignty and national sovereignty over the sea and islands of the country.

To deliver messages on the protection of marine and island natural resources and environment to organizations, individuals and communities to take practical action to preserve and promote the values of marine resources and environment sea and islands for the sustainable development of the country as well as the protection of sovereignty over the sea and islands of the country; to encourage people to settle permanently on long island, to work long term on the sea.

To raise awareness of the importance of oceans to human life and health; responsibility and capacity to cope with climate change of cadres, civil servants and other social sectors. To contribute to enhancing the search, rescue and protect security, order and safety of coastal areas and sea under the sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction of Viet Nam.

Responding activities include: common propaganda; to organize conferences on propaganda on the management, exploitation and use of natural resources and the protection of the marine environment; to organize the program "Let's clean up the sea”, etc…
