Continuing the success of the awards held in 2013 and 2015, ENV – Vietnam’s first NGO focused on the conservation of nature and the protection of the environment – decided to launch the third version on Wednesday.

Accordingly, the structure for this year’s awards will be expanded more than in previous years. In particular, awards will be awarded to Excellent Law Enforcement Officer, Excellent Judge, Excellent Prosecutor and Excellent Law Enforcement Agency.

A special award "Excellent Service - Destroying the criminal line of wildlife" will be given to individuals or groups (coordinated among the relevant authorities) whose deeds have contributed to the joint efforts to detect, investigate and severely prosecute the leaders of transnational wildlife trade lines.

The nomination officially runs until April 29. All organisations or individuals have the right to nominate or self-nominate to become candidates for the awards.

The nominated dossiers should be sent directly by mail to the mail address of the ENV at Mailbox 222, Hanoi Post Office, or via email at cgteam.env@gmail.com.

The jury will consist of representatives from ENV and a number of relevant ministries, embassies and domestic and international conservation organisations. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Hanoi at the end of 2019.

As the awards in 2013 and 2015 attracted great attention from the community, law enforcement officials and the media, Nguyen Phuong Dung - Deputy Director of ENV - said: “We hope that the third Wildlife Protection Awards will add passion and enthusiasm to law enforcement officers on the front of wildlife protection in Vietnam.”
