ABO/NDO- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a conference on October 26 to discuss digital transformation in the fields of culture and tourism.

According to Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong, digital transformation is one of the three strategic solutions to build a prosperous Vietnam and the MCST is not outside the trend.

The ministry has issued various documents to implement this task with certain positive results, including the creation of shared digital platforms such as digital museums and tourism management.

However, he noted that the results of digital transformation have not yet met the requirements and are uneven between sectors within the jurisdiction of the ministry.

Commenting on the tasks for the coming time, Deputy Minister Cuong said the ministry is implementing three core projects on digital transformation, one of which is the digitalisation of cultural heritages.

He stated that Vietnam has a great treasure trove of 3,500 national sites, 4,000 national intangible cultural heritages and 8,000 traditional festivals, which are to be digitalised for conservation and promotion.

At the conference, the delegates made nearly 40 presentations on the three main topics: digitalisation of cultural assets, digital tourism and sports, and digital transformation in promoting the nation’s image.
