Former President Tran Duc Luong visits Tien Giang

On October 5, former President Tran Duc Luong visited Tien Giang on the occasion of visiting some of provinces in the Mekong Delta. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang and leaders of departments received former President.

At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang introduced an overview of province’s socieconomic situation in recent years getting positive changes. The most outstanding was the construction of standard new rural commune, the social welfare work was guaranteed, the poverty rate decreased, etc...

Former State President Tran Duc Luong expressed his pleasure, encouraged by the achievements of the Party, government and people of the province achieved. The face of province from urban to rural areas has been increasingly innovated and developed.

 

He also noted that the province should pay more attention in actively responding to climate change, actively taking measures to adapt production in drought conditions, salinity intrusion in the near future, expanding the area specialized in the production of fruit-tree to increase the rate of export fruit.

 

After meeting with provincial leaders, former President Tran Duc Luong visited Thoi Son island, My Tho city.
