The PM made the request during a ceremony to mark the 55th anniversary of the People's Police Force (July 20) held in Hanoi on July 18.

Speaking at the ceremony, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly of the role of the Vietnam People’s Police over the past years, its absolute loyalty to the country and the people, Party and State, as well as its ties to the people and readiness to protect the nation, and its courage in fighting enemies and crimes.

He also spoke highly of the force’s recent achievements in combating crime, providing the guarantee of security and order, and contributing to development.

The Police force has contributed greatly to the socio-political stability and territorial sovereignty protection, as well as creating a favourable environment for national socio-economic development and external relations expansion, he added.

The Government leader asked the police to continue protecting national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; safeguard the Party, State, people and socialist state; ensure political security and social safety; and maintain peace for national development.

PM Phuc also contributed his ideas for building a competent and efficient public security force—one capable of successfully completing all assigned tasks, contributing to socio-economic development and protecting the people.

He went on to call on every officer and soldier working in the sector to continually improve their qualifications and promote solidarity, in order to meet the requirements of the current situation.
