Department urged to protect archives and valuable materials

ABO/NDO – Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has asked the State Records Management and Archives Department of Vietnam to work with local governments and functional agencies to ensure the safe storage of records, archives, and valuable materials.

The standing deputy PM made the request at a working session with the body under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) in Hanoi on February 23.

He praised the contributions made by officials and employees in the department to the protection, preservation, and promotion of national materials with significant content and historical values, including those recognised as World Documentary Heritages.

He urged the department to take effective and scientific measures in order to conserve and promote the archives and woodblocks with cultural and historical values, thereby contributing to boosting socio-economic development, enriching the country, and safeguarding national sovereignty.
