Senior leaders meet with local voters

ABO/NDO – Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, accompanied by a delegation of National Assembly deputies from Long An province, held a meeting with local voters in Duc Hoa district, Long An province, on May 4.

Voters raised various opinions concerning local socio-economic development, corruption prevention, and cases affecting the legitimate rights of the locals.

Deputy PM Binh acknowledged their opinions, noting that the Party and Government pay special heed to corruption prevention, without a ‘prohibited zone’. He also asked the provincial People’s Committee to review, inspect and address the voters’ issues of concern and send a report to the voters.

On the same day, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security, Sen. Lieut. Gen To Lam and a delegation of NA deputies from Bac Ninh province met with voters in Dinh Bang ward, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province.

Local voters discussed a number of issues and called for prompt action from the authorised agencies, including low compensations for lost land, the prevention of drug crime and corruption, environmental pollution, industrial waste, food safety, and others.

Politburo member To Lam affirmed that these are important issues and will be sent to NA’s upcoming working session.

On May 3-4, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai also held meetings with voters from Hanoi’s Ba Vi, Thach That, Phuc Tho districts and Son Tay town ahead of the fifth meeting of the 14th NA.

Hanoi voters raised their concern over the issues of environmental pollution, food safety and the preservation of relic sites aligned with tourism development.

Politburo member Hai noted that the opinions from voters will be submitted to the upcoming NA session and the authorised agencies in order to put forth prompt solutions.

Meanwhile, from May 2-4, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac heard opinions from voters in the mountainous districts of QuePhong, QuyChau, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky and Thai Hoa town in Nghe An central province.

They discussed matters related to poverty reduction, social welfare and policies towards national contributors, and others.
