The 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign of Tien Giang launched

ABO - On June 1, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union to organize the launching ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign.

Deputy Secretary of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong, Head of Department of Propaganda and Training of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Kim Trat, Chief of Internal Affairs of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Thang, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc, Head of the Provincial Steering Board of the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign attended this event.

This year’s Summer Youth Volunteer campaign under the theme of “Tien Giang Youth creatively to volunteer for building homeland",  the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign consists of four campaigns such as: the pink holiday, the green summer, the green campaign, the red flamboyant and the “Assistance during Exam Season” will run from June 1 to August  with the participation of volunteer Youth Union’s members, students inside and outside the province.

The 208 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign has the following main objectives: To build 23 compassionate homes; to build 9 entertainment spots for children; to build 7 km of rural roads; to build 11 light, green, clean and security roads; to support 1,500 disadvantaged children; to provide free medical treatment for 9,000 people; to launch 4,000 creative ideas; to plant new 15,000 trees.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc, Head of the Provincial Steering Board of the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign suggested that: All levels, sectors to pay attention and direct the activities of the campaign. The Steering Committees of districts, towns and cities must implement the plan to follow the focus and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee.
For volunteers, volunteer students have to choose programs and jobs suitable for them to contribute their youth strength to share, support local and remote areas.

After the ceremony, the Provincial Steering Committee handed over a red scarf house in Vinh Kim commune, Chau Thanh district; presenting 20 gifts to disable children at the Center for Inclusive Education Development for Children with Disabilities; guiding the exchange of plastic bags of environmental friendly bags in two markets in My Tho city to responds to World Environment Day 2018.
