Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc works with the Tien Giang province

ABO - On the afternoon of August 9, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of ministries and central sectors worked with the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee.

At the working session, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Van Huong reported the socio-economic development in the period 2016 - 2017 and the first 6 months of 2018. Accordingly, in the period 2016 - 2017, Tien Giang province was one of the three provinces in the Mekong Delta which had the highest economic growth.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the socio-economic situation of Tien Giang province continued to develop better than in the previous years; the economic structure shifted towards increasing non-agricultural proportions; the per capita income increased, etc ...

At the working session, leader of the Tien Giang province proposed to the Prime Minister many issues such as landslide coast, river banks, the difficulties related to the development of industry in the east of the province associated with the sea economy, etc ...

Speaking at the working session, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated the results that the Tien Giang province achieved in the past time, specifically, such as business development, promotion of start-ups, etc... The PM noted the positive results; at the same time, the PM appreciated the unity, determination of the Tien Giang provincial Party commmittee, the authority and people of the Tien Giang province in the development of the local.

The PM urged the Tien Giang province to continue improving the investment environment, better business, attaching importance to training human resources.

Referring to the state of crime, recently emerged the situation of an usury, the PM asked the province to direct investigation to strictly deal with "black" credit in the area.

The PM said that in the coming time, Tien Giang province’s economy needs to develop on five main pillars: technology applied agriculture, clean fruit, agricultural product processing, eco-tourism and research Soai Rap deep-water port as a logistic port of the province for the whole region.

For Tien Giang province's proposal as the additional capital of VND 300 billion from the medium-term reserve fund for the Go Cong sea dyke upgrade project, the PM basically agreed with this project; at the same time, the PM assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside with the concerned ministries and branches in synthesizing these funds' capital sources for reporting to the PM.

On the project to prevent erosion, accretion and planting of wave protection trees to protect Go Cong sea dykes related to ODA loans, the PM basically supported and assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to guide the Tien Giang province to carry out according to regulations and report to the PM.
With a capital assistance of around VND130 billion to deal with river bank erosion, rivers and canals, the PM agreed with the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and assigned the concerned ministries and branches to urgently implement according to the previous direction.

On proposal of industrial development in the east associated with sea economy, for the Soai Rap Petroleum Industrial Park project, the PM agreed to hand over to the Tien Giang province and assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the related ministries and branches and the Tien Giang province to organize hand-over in the spirit of prior notification.

For the project of Cho Gao canal expansion in phase II, the PM assigned the Ministry of Transport and Communications to preside over and coordinate with ministries and branches to study the suitable investment plan and report to the PM.
