Deputy PM expects better support for Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, veterans

ABO/NDO - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam held a meeting with Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and former soldiers at the Government headquarters on December 13, marking the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944-2018).

The Deputy PM affirmed that the Party, State and Government always pay due attention to the life of revolutionary contributors, including Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, former soldiers, war invalids and relatives of revolutionary contributors.

According to the Deputy PM, the international community spoke highly of Vietnam's policy towards disadvantaged people and policy-beneficiaries.
 
However, the country needs to promote economic development while boosting culture, education and health, as well as preserving its good traditions, in order to provide better care for national contributors and underprivileged people.
 
The government official expressed his belief that veterans and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers will continue to uphold the resilient revolutionary tradition to be bright examples for the younger generations to follow.
On the occasion, veterans shared touching stories from the past national struggles to pay tribute to their fallen companions in addition to their own stories of overcoming difficulties to settle their lives and run their own business.
 
The delegation of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and veterans also visited and presented hundreds of gifts to other needy veterans and students during their visit to old battlefields.
