Meeting and listening to people is the responsibility of the government

ABO – On January 5, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) chaired the conference to preliminary review of the leadership of the PPC and the PPC’s member meeting with people on the contents related to the Governance Performance Index and Public Administration (PAPI) in 2018.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong said that: This can be seen as the province's success in the fourth quarter of 2016. For departments and agencies, directors and deputy directors is not necessary to meet people but it needs to be flexible in assigning heads and deputy heads to participate.

In addition, it is necessary to continue to promote the role of members of the PPC, leaders of local governments in meeting with people to listen to and solve important and urgent people's issues. In addition, it is necessary to be flexible to choose the venue for meeting people, etc ...

In 2018, the PPC organized 48 meetings with people. In which, 15 meetings between the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the PPC with people (2,539 participants) and 187 opinions; 33 meetings between 17 members of the PPC and people (5,130 attendees) in communes, wards and towns in the province and 430 views.

At the meetings, people raised feedback and recommendations to the leaders of the PPC on 6 main contents (with 22 components) of PAPI and reflections, suggestions and recommendations on all fields of life.

Through the feedback and suggestions of the people, the PPC’s leaders requested provincial departments, provincial and district People's Committees to explain, clarify and provide official information on unclear people issues; addressing the resolution of plausible petitions can be solved immediately or record comments to consider and resolve satisfactorily.

In 2019, leaders of the provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Committee will have 125 meetings with people on contents related to PAPI.

Departments and departments proposed the PPC to implement the plan to improve the provincial PAPI Index; organizing training for 11 Chairman of district People's Committee, 173 Chairman of commune People's Committee in the province on meeting people for localities to implement from 2020.
