National Assembly to convene 7th session on May 20

ABO/NDO – The National Assembly will convene its 7th session on May 20, and conclude the session on June 14, the legislature’s Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc said at a press conference on May 17.

The session will focus on law building, spending 12 working days on the work, said Vice Chairman of the NA office Nguyen Manh Hung.

The NA will spend two and a half days on Question & Answer activities, and the remaining time on socio-economic issues, the State budget, supervision work and other matters.

The lawmakers are scheduled to consider and pass seven bills and two resolutions, and debate nine other draft laws.

The NA is also scheduled to consider and adopt a resolution approving the joining of the International Labour Organisation’s Convention 98 concerning the Application of the Principles of the Right to Organise and to Bargain Collectively.

Vice Chairman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs Bui Sy Loi said the entire basic content of the convention had been integrated into the 2012 Labour Code, and the NA will amend the remaining content to ensure the smooth enforcement of the convention.
