ABO - Speaking at the meeting of member of Tien Giang People's Committee (PPC) on February 21, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong requested the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to appoint specialized forces for closely monitoring the work of pumping water to save rice.

At the same time, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed Go Cong Dong district to review the area of winter-spring rice throughout the district, where lacked of water, to have solutions to regulate water; installing two more pumping stations to supply water from Vam Ve river to the North of Highway 50 of Go Cong Tay district.

In addition, comrade Le Van Huong asked the Health sector to focus on preventing and controlling Covid-19; re-evaluating the reason of low Covid-19 prevention and control; the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment investigates the erosion of canals in the eastern districts and towns of the province.

In addition, he also requested that the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development must organize immediately to salvage water hyacinth after harvesting winter-spring rice in Eastern districts and towns.

Relevant departments and branches perform a number of tasks such as: Promoting communication on poverty reduction; focusing on capital construction work; building a plan to promote and consume fruit, etc...

At the meeting, leaders of departments and agencies also focused on reporting key issues in the month such as: Prevention of drought and salinity; disease prevention and control Covid-19; situation of fruit consumption; issues related to the provincial drug treatment facility; security situation, etc…

Accordingly, the PPC handed over the decision to appoint Director of the My Tho city Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Kim Chi to Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
