The delegation surveyed the situation of winter-spring rice crop being harvested in Binh Tan commune, Go Cong Tay district. In the winter - spring crop (2019 - 2020), Go Cong Tay district sows more than 9,000 hectares, with major rice varieties such as Dai Thom 8, OM5451, etc... At the same time, in order to prevent drought and salinity in the winter - spring crop, the agriculture sector has mobilized people to sow according to the recommended schedule and the hoppers' avoidance program; using certified varieties, short-term salinity tolerant varieties to adapt to drought conditions, etc…

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh highly appreciated the preparation for prevention of drought and salinity in the dry season 2020 of farmers in Go Cong Tay district and suggested that the local authorities and farmers continue to uphold the spirit of initiative to effectively respond to natural disasters in the coming years.

He said that Go Cong Tay district was very active and complied with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's requirements for seeding schedules.
