My Phuoc commune merged with My Phuoc town

ABO - On February 11, Tien Giang People's Committee held a conference to implement Resolution No. 870/NQ-UBTVQH14 dated January 10, 2020 of the NA Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative unit of the province (Resolution 870).

According to Resolution 870, the commune-level administrative unit of Tan Phuoc district will merge 37.43 km2 of the natural area and 3,384 people of My Phuoc commune with My Phuoc town. After merging, My Phuoc town has 40.28 km2 of natural area and population size of 6,678 people. Thus, after the arrangement, Tan Phuoc district has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 1 town. The resolution takes effect from February 1, 2020.

Since the effective date of Resolution 870, Tien Giang province has 11 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts, 2 towns and 1 city; 172 commune-level administrative units, including 143 communes, 22 wards and 7 towns.

At the conference, Tien Giang Department of Home Affairs deployed a plan of the Provincial People's Committee to organize the implementation of Resolution 870. Leader of Tan Phuoc district implemented a decision on merging the grassroots party organization of Standing Committee of Tan Phuoc district Party Committee, etc...

In conclusion, comrade Le Van Huong said that this merger will create the opportunity for people to develop, study and work. Therefore, the locality needs to propagate so that people are well aware of implementing the resolution with the government.

He also suggested: Tien Giang Department of Home Affairs and related branches with Tan Phuoc district Party Committee remove difficulties of the locality, discussing and giving solutions how to minimize the adverse effects for the local in the period of transfer, merger; Public security and military sectors have strengthened inspection and examination to ensure the situation of security and order in the locality.
