Tien Giang: To ensure social security aligned with fighting COVID-19 epidemic

ABO - Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee  Le Van Huong has just chaired a meeting to review the policy of ensuring social security aligned with fighting COVID-19 epidemic in the province.

According to Tien Giang Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, there are seven groups of disadvantaged people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the province through checking.

The first group as workers under the labor contract regime, having to agree to postpone the performance of the labor contract and taking a leave without pay for 1 month or more because businesses are struggling with the Covid-19 epidemic.

The second is employee with financial difficulties. The third group is an individual business household with tax revenue of less than 100 million VND/year and business suspension.

The fourth is employee whose employment contract or employment contract is terminated but it is ineligible for unemployment benefits; employees, who do not enter into labor contracts, lose their jobs.
The fifth is people with meritorious services to the revolution, who are receiving monthly preferential benefits.

The sixth is subject of social protection and is receiving monthly social allowance. The seventh is the poor and near-poor households according to the national poverty line.

At the meeting, Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee directed Tien Giang Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and related units to make a complete inventory of the supported subjects, create social justice, combat negative and strictly implement according to the guidance of the ministries and central branches.

Particularly for the last three groups, it is possible to immediately provide support in order to timely support people.
