Vietnamese National Assembly leader's visit makes headlines in Lao media

ABO/NDO - Major Lao newspapers such as Pasaxon and Pathetlao Daily have provided extensive coverage on Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s visit to the country from May 15-17.

The two newspapers reported that as soon as arriving in Laos on the afternoon of May 15, the Vietnamese parliamentary leader and his Lao counterpart attended a ground-breaking ceremony for the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Park in Vientiane.

On their front pages, Pasaxon and Pathetlao Daily featured an interview with Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane on deepening the ties between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
He stated that the two National Assemblies will work closely together to enhance the efficiency of bilateral cooperation.

On May 15 and 16, the Pasaxon online newspaper, the Lao News Agency online newspaper, the Lao National Television and the Lao National Radio carried reports and photos on the welcoming ceremony for the Vietnamese leader at Wattay International Airport.

Local media agencies covered Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s meetings with Lao leaders, during which the Vietnamese leader expressed his joy in visiting Laos for the first time in his new capacity.

Lao newspapers also reported on the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese and Lao National Assemblies for the 2022-2026 period as well as the signing and exchange of other cooperation documents.
